Scope and Contents These petitions and resolutions are close pieces, possibly written by the person proposing the action, as a note for the secretary when copying his minutes. Most of them are transcribed into the Minutes of the Academy but oftentimes changed in wording or intent. Scope and Contents A pharmacist and botanist of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Rau became an authority on mosses and fungi, assembling large collections which mostly went to the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
